Tom Brady, who was harshly mocked during Netflix’s “The Roast of Tom Brady,” has vowed to never willingly be the subject of such jokes again. Comedian Nikki Glaser is challenging his resolve. Glaser discussed Brady’s post-roast regrets in an interview with “Today” hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager.

Following the star-studded event that poked fun at Brady’s football career and his public divorce from Gisele Bündchen, Brady remarked that he "wouldn't do that again because of how it affected" his family. Glaser, hailed by Kotb and Bush Hager as the roast's "winner," suggested that Brady "maybe didn't anticipate the backlash from his family and how it would affect them.”

She also expressed disbelief that Brady was unaware of what he was getting into, noting that he could have prepared by watching footage of previous comedy roasts. “I think it’s something you say after the fact,” she said. “It’s impossible for me to believe he didn’t consider what could have happened.”

“The Roast of Tom Brady” streamed live on Netflix earlier this month and featured jabs from host Kevin Hart and panelists Will Ferrell, Jeff Ross, Rob Gronkowski, Kim Kardashian, and Andrew Schulz, among others. Brady, on a Tuesday episode of “The Pivot” podcast, said he “loved” being the target of the jokes but “didn’t like the way it affected my kids.”

He has three children: a 16-year-old son with actor Bridget Moynahan and two children with ex-wife Bündchen. Glaser joked Wednesday that she thinks Brady couldn’t take the heat because “no one’s ever said a bad thing to him in the past 30 years.” While the comedian said she and her fellow roasters agreed beforehand not to bring Brady’s children into the mix, Glaser added there weren’t specific guidelines on which topics were off-limits.

Nikki Glaser Blasts Ben Affleck for Bombing at Tom Brady Roast

It's been a tough month for Ben Affleck. Before rumors about his alleged divorce from Jennifer Lopez began circulating, the “Argo” actor had a cringe-worthy appearance at Netflix’s Tom Brady roast on May 5. Affleck went on an odd rant about social media that didn’t sit well with the audience or viewers at home.

Nikki Glaser, who was arguably the MVP of the roast, criticized Affleck’s performance during an interview on “KFC Radio.” “I haven’t watched it again because I don’t like to see people bomb,” Glaser, 39, said in an Instagram clip shared Saturday. “He didn’t prepare,” the “Inside Amy Schumer” comedian remarked about Affleck.

“He’s someone who’s famous enough to think this is beneath him, so he just saw it as a favor. He probably thought it wouldn’t be a big deal.” Glaser speculated that Affleck pitched an angle to the writers about “being mad at tweets,” which the radio show host found “so self-centered” of the Oscar winner.

“There were jokes that could have filled his set and been amazing, but either they couldn’t get him on the phone to work it out, he didn’t practice enough, or he just chose a bad premise and had to stick with it,” Glaser explained. She added, “It didn’t work right away, so it’s not gonna work later.”

Glaser isn’t the only comedian to criticize Affleck’s performance. Dane Cook, who attended the event but didn’t participate, said Affleck came in “last place” in a viral TikTok video. Affleck was roasted on social media for his perplexing rant. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one user compared his speech to a “car crash.”

Fans also speculated that the “Air” star had undergone plastic surgery before the Netflix special, but insiders later told the Daily Mail that wasn’t the case. A source said, “Ben has been criticized repeatedly for decades; this is nothing new. And now people thinking he had a face-lift is just a joke.” “The Roast of Tom Brady” is streaming now on Netflix.
