    Anies Baswedan is an Indonesian academician, politician, and former Minister of Education and Culture. He was born on May 7, 1969, in Kuningan, West Java.

    Baswedan served as the Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia from 2014 to 2016. He is known for his contributions to education reform and his active involvement in social and political issues.

    Baswedan has also held various positions in academia, including as the rector of Paramadina University in Jakarta. He ran for the position of Governor of Jakarta in 2017, winning the election and serving until 2022.
